Museums in Rimini

Parco Tematico dell'Aviazione

Parco Tematico dell'Aviazione, also known as Museo dell'Aviazione, stands on Sant'Aquilina hill along the main road between Rimini and San Marino. Opened in 1995, it displays over 40 aircraft across almost 80,000 square metres, outdoors and in pavilions.

Aircraft and collections

Outdoor spaces display aircraft, helicopters, engines and aviation materials on the hillside. The pavilion preserves uniforms, photographs, medals and documents on aviation history; aircraft technical specifications can also be consulted through a QR code.

Museo dell'Aeromodellismo gathers control-line and radio-controlled models. Separate from the full-size aircraft, this section is devoted to the history of models and their techniques. The park organises guided visits for groups on request; dogs are allowed.

The hill during the war

The park grounds saw fierce fighting for the capture of Rimini during the Second World War. Centro Studi sulla Linea Gialla, near the refreshment area, gathers documents on Linea Gotica and Linea Gialla, described by the museum as the last German barrier against the Allied advance on Rimini. The Rimini monuments guide allows this visit to be combined with other sites of the city's history.

The park opens from May to early November: in 2026, from 1 May to 1 November, daily in summer and on Sundays at other times. From 2 November, it remains closed until the 2027 season; hours are in the Parco Tematico dell'Aviazione calendar on the official website.
