Bellaria Igea Marina

Sport in Bellaria Igea Marina

In Bellaria Igea Marina, choices range from running near the beach to park training and a route along the Uso towards the countryside. Sand tournaments and town facilities add team sports options; the main competitions are concentrated between May and September, with a volleyball tournament in early January.

From seafront to parks

The seafront is a natural route for running or walking near the sea. In Igea Marina, Parco del Gelso, around 40 hectares surrounding a lake, instead leads onto paths among trees and lawns and has an outdoor gym with free-to-use equipment.

Parco della Fornace, open daily from 7am to 9pm, includes a pump track and fitness space. The pump track has bumps and bends designed for mountain bikes and is used differently from an ordinary cycle path.

Links between parks and coast make it possible to alternate different environments within the same outing. For longer walks, the River Uso becomes the main reference point.

Sentieri per l'Uso

The route follows the river between Bellaria Igea Marina and San Mauro Pascoli for around 6 km. Gravel roads and bankside stretches lead towards Villa Torlonia, with rest areas along the itinerary.

The 6 km are one way to Villa Torlonia. The variant within San Mauro Pascoli adds around 2 km; the route includes uphill stretches, especially relevant for cycling.

Villa Torlonia and other inland destinations are described in excursions from Bellaria Igea Marina.

Courts, sports hall and seaside activities

Palazzetto dello Sport is at 1 Via Quinto Ennio, near Parco del Gelso. Stadio Enrico Nanni is the main football venue; the Gelso area also includes tennis courts.

The beach hosts beach volleyball and tournaments, some around Parco Pavese in Igea Marina. Tournament participation requires the registration specified by the programme; outside tournaments, sand courts are used according to availability.
