Sport in Milano Marittima

The pinewood is the starting point for running and walking in Milano Marittima. The seafront adds a route near the beach; Canalino and sports facilities offer activities with their own organisation and access.

Running and training in the pinewood

The Cervia and Milano Marittima pinewood, 210 hectares behind the built-up area, has two running routes and equipped exercise areas. Main access points are on Via Stazzone, Via Jelenia Gora, Viale Ravenna, Viale Nullo Baldini and Viale Forlanini.

Pinewood use follows Comune regulations; notices and signs at access points indicate areas closed for forestry work.

Nearby CerviAvventura instead offers suspended treetop courses, with harnesses and age and height requirements.

From the seafront to green routes

The seafront cycle path reaches XIX Traversa, linking the harbour area to northern stretches of the built-up area. Pedestrian and bicycle spaces have separate uses.

Cervia Verde is a flat 24 km itinerary through the coastal area and pinewoods. To the north, the route to Basilica di Sant'Apollinare in Classe measures 40 km out and back: it crosses Pineta di Classe and the Ortazzo and Ortazzino wetlands on mixed surfaces suitable for mountain, gravel or trekking bikes, and can be halved by returning by train from Classe station.

Options towards the salt pans and Ravenna are explored in excursions from Milano Marittima.

Organised canoe and SUP outings take place on the Canalino, also towards the salt pan, with a dedicated programme.

The beach includes courts and seasonal activities; lessons and hire are provided by authorised schools and services. Tennis and other disciplines have their own facilities and bookings, separate from public parks.

Facilities and competitions

Stadio dei Pini Germano Todoli is at 61 Viale Ravenna. For swimming, athletics and indoor sport, other municipal facilities are gathered on the sport in Cervia page, alongside the year's competitions.

Major running and triathlon races start from Cervia seafront and cross Milano Marittima in some sections: Cervia Run in late March, passing along Viale 2 Giugno to Rotonda Cadorna in 2026, and the Ironman Emilia-Romagna marathon on the third weekend of September. Periods and editions are in events in Cervia.
