Parks and nature in Cattolica

Acquario di Cattolica

Acquario di Cattolica is at 1/A Piazzale delle Nazioni, on the seafront at the boundary with Portoverde in Misano Adriatico. It occupies the former Le Navi seaside holiday colony: buildings from 1934, recognisable by their shapes recalling a fleet. The aquarium opened in 2000.

Routes through the buildings

The ticket includes five visitor itineraries: three colour-coded routes and two exhibitions. The Blue route, the largest, crosses marine environments from the Mediterranean to tropical seas, with sharks, penguins, jellyfish and stingrays.

The Yellow route is devoted to freshwater animals, including otters and caimans; the Green to reptiles, amphibians and insects. The visit therefore spans several buildings and themes, beyond marine tanks alone.

Exhibitions and seasons

The two exhibitions are Insetti Giganti XXL Edition, indoors, and Il Mondo dei Dinosauri, an outdoor route open April to September. On rainy days, and in months when the dinosaurs are closed, the visit therefore focuses on the buildings.

Calendar and transport

After summer, the aquarium opens on selected days. The 2026-27 calendar includes October weekends, 31 October and 1 November, November Sundays, 5 to 8 December, 13 and 20 December, and 26 December to 6 January 2027. Hours change seasonally, with longer opening in July and August, and last admission differs for each route. Hours and tickets are on the official website's opening days and times page.

Start Romagna route 125, linking Riccione, Misano Adriatico and Cattolica along the coast, stops at the aquarium: stop 71 is called “Le Navi”. For the rest of the day, the Cattolica with children and entertainment in Cattolica guides offer options.
