Misano Adriatico

Excursions from Misano Adriatico

From Misano Adriatico, the three EcoVie offer a choice between seafront, river and hills. EcoVia del Mare stays on the coast; EcoVia del Conca follows the river upstream from Portoverde; the Colline route reaches the Misano Monte area. Surface type and the return journey distinguish a short walk from a longer excursion.

Comparing the three EcoVie

The Comune publishes maps and GPX tracks for the routes. Distances describe different itineraries, to be chosen according to available time and transport.

RouteListed lengthFeatures
EcoVia del Mare3.5 kmFrom Portoverde to the Riccione boundary, along the seafront
EcoVia del Conca8 km one wayFrom Portoverde along the river to the Pian Ventena ford (finish on Via Cerro, in Asmara), mainly on unpaved surfaces
EcoVia delle Colline12 kmLocal lanes and dirt tracks towards Monte Annibolina and Misano Monte

EcoVia del Mare follows the coast through Parco Mare Nord, with the cycle path alongside the pedestrian route. At the Riccione boundary, the coast continues along Lungomare del Sole.

EcoVia del Conca and the return to Portoverde

EcoVia del Conca starts on the left bank near Portoverde. It follows the reservoir and circuit area, passes along around one kilometre of asphalt on Via Fornace and returns to the riverside path as far as the Pian Ventena ford; the Comune lists Via Cerro, in Asmara, as the finishing point. From there, the route returns to Portoverde or continues on EcoVia delle Colline. Out and back totals 16 kilometres, with 40 metres of elevation gain.

A short outing can turn back before the end. After rain, the packed earth changes, and the ford must not be crossed when the river is high.

Rest areas and bicycle service stations are signposted along the itinerary. The reservoir and riverside vegetation offer views of the river landscape without adding a climb to the villages. In Paesaggio protetto Torrente Conca, the wetland is a stop for migratory birds, and WWF has installed a birdwatching observatory at the centre of the area.

The hills and Misano Monte

EcoVia delle Colline is intended for trekking and mountain biking. It starts around Via Agina or connects at the end of the Conca route, crossing fields and vineyards. It passes Monte Annibolina and Misano Monte, alternating local lanes and dirt tracks: it requires a different level of effort from seafront cycling.

Misano Monte is the municipality's historic core. Pieve dei Santi Biagio ed Erasmo and the tower with its entrance arch preserve the village landmarks; Piazza del Castello is a stop on the hill route. The village can also be reached as a destination in its own right, without following the EcoVie.

The circuit and the memory of Marco Simoncelli

Misano circuit offers a visit devoted to motorsport. Pits, paddock, podium and press room can be seen on the guided tour offered on a few summer dates, described in the Misano circuit tour listing.

In Coriano, on the hills behind the coast, the gallery museum devoted to Marco Simoncelli, opened in 2012, gathers motorcycles, helmets and racing suits. Castello Malatestiano di Coriano adds a historical stop.

Portoverde and trips towards San Bartolo

Portoverde is a destination for a walk around the marina and the starting point of EcoVia del Conca: a harbour visit combines well with a short riverside stretch.

In summer, the tourist office offers boat trips from Portoverde marina towards the waters of San Bartolo and Fiorenzuola di Focara beach, departing in the late afternoon; in 2026, they were scheduled from June to August. The boat sails only with a minimum number of participants and favourable weather.

Morciano, Valconca and Onferno

Morciano di Romagna is a hub for continuing into the hinterland by bus. Route 124 stops at Misano Cella, in the municipality's hinterland; at Morciano, a change to route 182 leads up to Gemmano and Onferno.

Excursions from Riccione describes the guided Onferno visit and Valconca villages; booking the cave at a time compatible with the return service is advisable.

For Gradara, Cattolica is reached by train or route 125, followed by Adriabus routes 130 and 131, described on the excursions from Cattolica page.

Travel along the coast

Misano Adriatico station allows trips towards Rimini and Cattolica. Route 125 links Riccione, Misano, Portoverde, Cattolica and Gabicce Mare; services and variants are in the Start Romagna timetables.

Concabus is an on-demand service: bookings follow the Comune's arrangements.

The Misano Adriatico guide gathers the stops for a stay; Riviera Romagnola itineraries help compare the river route with village trips.
