Cesenatico

Sport in Cesenatico

Cycling is one of the sporting hallmarks of Cesenatico, from countryside rides to the Nove Colli. The sea offers sand courts and water activities; Parco di Levante and Parco di Ponente allow running or walking away from avenues. Major competitions are concentrated in May and September.

Beach courts and water activities

Cesenatico Beach Arena, on the free beach in front of Piazza Andrea Costa, hosts beach volleyball, beach tennis and footvolley. Two courts, marked by a green flag, are always freely available without booking or membership; the others require membership and reservation. Spectators can watch training and events freely.

For SUP, sailing and sea swimming, the schools and services of Cesenatico beach are the point of reference, subject to the rules of the chosen stretch.

Cycling towards Cesena

Ciclovia del Pisciatello links Cesenatico and Cesena over around 15 km one way on a flat route with paved and dirt stretches.

The municipal tourism portal publishes other itineraries with downloadable tracks, from short rides to longer inland routes. Surface and elevation gain help distinguish a countryside ride from hill training. Destinations are explored in excursions from Cesenatico.

In Villamarina, on Via Litorale Marina, the cycle circuit is a 1.6 km illuminated track for road cycling, running, handcycling and skating. A sports club manages it, with free unrestricted access on Monday and Wednesday mornings and other times on reservation.

Parco di Levante and Parco di Ponente offer walking and running through green areas. Giardini al Mare adds a route near the beach, alternating avenue strolls with green spaces.

NaviSkate Park is in Parco di Levante, on the Viale dei Mille side, with a skateboarding bowl: entry is free daily from 9am to one hour before sunset for skateboards, inline skates and BMX. Team sports facilities include Stadio Alfiero Moretti and others; Palapeep is at 21 Via Don Giovanni Minzoni.

Nove Colli and other competitions

Nove Colli, a cycling granfondo starting from the seafront at dawn, takes place on a Sunday in the second half of May and heads over the climbs of Romagna: its 55th edition was held on 24 May 2026, and the organiser has announced the 56th for 23 May 2027. The event website publishes routes and regulations.

In May, Challenge Cesenatico brings middle-distance triathlon between sea, roads and hills: on 10 May in 2026, with 1.9 km swimming, 90 cycling and 21 running; the 2027 edition, with the new 100 km format, is announced for 16 May. In warmer months, swimming and SUP events join the calendar. In mid-September, Memorial Marco Pantani, a professional cycling race, starts in Riccione and finishes on Viale Carducci near the monument (12 September 2026). Other recurring events are in events in Cesenatico.
