Museums in Bellaria Igea Marina
La Casa Rossa di Alfredo Panzini
La Casa Rossa is writer Alfredo Panzini's house museum in Bellaria Igea Marina, at 1 Via Pisino. Its name comes from the plasterwork of the villa, built on a dune and associated with the family's summer stays. The rooms display furnishings, personal objects and works by his wife, painter Clelia Gabrielli.
The house and collection
The villa has belonged to the Comune since 2004. Restoration ended in 2006 and the room displays followed in 2007. The decorations preserve the connection with Panzini's writing: tiles and ceramic bowls bearing the titles of his works appear on the façade and in the main hall.
The collection derives from daughter Matilde's 1981 donation and includes sixteen works by Clelia, together with the writer's furniture and possessions. Manuscripts, correspondence and photographs form the documentary collection held in the Biblioteca comunale.
The park and entrances
Beside Casa Rossa stands Casa Finotti, the former sharecropper's home, now an exhibition space. The park is entered from Via Pisino, with a rose garden, play equipment and a picnic area.
Casa Rossa has steps at the entrance, while Casa Finotti has step-free access. The house opens on summer evenings, from the second week in June to the second in September (in 2026, from 9pm to 11pm, except Mondays); during the rest of the year, it opens on special occasions and by appointment. Guided visit themes and dates are arranged with IAT di Bellaria. The house is among the cultural places in the Bellaria Igea Marina guide.
