Sport in Rimini

Parco del Mare combines running, walking and training with a beach day. In Rimini, routes also continue through inland parks and along the Marecchia, while stadium, pool and sports halls serve organised activities.

Running and training by the sea

The seafront is a favourite route for running near the coast. Parco del Mare includes fitness areas and outdoor activity spaces within its walking and cycling route. Bicycle spaces remain separate from strolling areas.

The beach hosts beach tennis, beach volleyball and other sand sports courts. From May to September, Un mare di Sport brings over a hundred small events to the sand, from beach volleyball to footvolley (eighth edition in 2026). Swimming services and rules are described on the Rimini beach page.

Routes towards Valmarecchia start from Parco XXV Aprile, on mixed and unpaved surfaces. The Marecchia route leads away from the city towards Villa Verucchio and the Saiano area.

Anello Verde instead links the sea to urban parks, passing the Palacongressi area, Parco XXV Aprile and the Ponte di Tiberio area. It is a way of moving between different parts of the city without simply following the coast.

For climbs, Covignano offers walking routes in the hills near the city. Inland itineraries are explored in excursions from Rimini, distinguishing walks, cycle tracks and destinations requiring a transfer.

Athletics, swimming and team sports

Stadio Romeo Neri, at 1 Piazzale del Popolo, has a 400-metre athletics track. Palasport Flaminio, at 28 Via Flaminia, is an indoor sports venue.

The Viserba municipal pool, in Parco don Tonino Bello at 7 Via Angelo Cenci, has a 25 by 25-metre main pool with ten lanes, a teaching pool for courses and a shallow leisure pool; the building has no architectural barriers.

The Via Bramante skatepark is in Parco Fabbri. Pista ciclo-podistica Masinelli, at 196 Via Sacramora, is a 752-metre paved, illuminated loop for cycling and running.

Sport to follow

Paganello brings ultimate to Marina Centro beach over Easter weekend: the 35th edition, from 3 to 6 April 2026, gathered 2,300 athletes from 29 nations. Rimini Marathon takes place in April between seafront and historic centre: on 13 April in 2025, and from 17 to 19 April in 2026, with the Italian national marathon championships.

On the second weekend of May, Viserba beach hosts TchoukBall Festival, free for spectators (22nd edition, from 8 to 10 May 2026). In early September, Festival della cultura sportiva brings talks and activities between Piazzale Kennedy and other venues: its fifth edition ran from 3 to 6 September 2026.

Other annual events are in events in Rimini. Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini instead takes place in September at the Misano Adriatico circuit.
