Misano Adriatico
Sport in Misano Adriatico
Three routes help with choosing how to explore Misano Adriatico: EcoVia del Mare along the coast, EcoVia del Conca inland and EcoVia delle Colline for climbs and dirt tracks. The beach, Santamonica facilities and circuit add different activities and events, with competitions concentrated mainly in May and September.
On the beach and in the water
Beach volleyball and other sand games take place on designated courts. For SUP, canoeing and sailing, the authorised schools are the point of reference, with suitable equipment and dedicated sea access.
Portoverde is the southern seafront landmark, near the Conca mouth. For a seaside run or walk, the coastal EcoVia keeps to the land route without entering areas reserved for beachgoers.
The three EcoVie
EcoVia del Mare crosses the municipal coast between Portoverde and the Riccione boundary. The flat route measures 3.5 km and suits a walk or short bike ride.
EcoVia del Conca follows the river's left bank towards the Pian Ventena ford. It is 8 km one way, or 16 km if returning along the same route. The surface and vegetation are those of a riverside route, with different characteristics from the seafront path.
EcoVia delle Colline measures 12 km and includes local lanes, dirt tracks, climbs and descents around Misano Monte. It is the route to consider for mountain biking and trekking. The EcoVia project maps describe individual routes; other itineraries are gathered on the excursions from Misano page.
Athletics, team sports and bocce
Stadio Santamonica, at 31 Via Gilles Villeneuve, has a 400-metre athletics track. Around Via Rossini are indoor sports facilities, including basketball, volleyball and handball. The Via Albinoni ground is another football venue.
Misano Brasile, on Via Alberello, and Villaggio Argentina, on Via Trebbio, have bocce courts with seasonal activities. Facilities for training and matches are booked through their operators.
The year's competitions and the circuit
In May, the Misano in Bici ride follows the EcoVie through the districts to Conca Village, with riders free to start along the route: it took place on 4 May 2025 and 3 May 2026. In July, Festival della Pallamano brings youth tournaments to Misano; its 23rd edition in 2026 exceeded 1,500 participants.
September is the month of the largest competitions. The Santamonica circuit hosts Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, a MotoGP world championship round; that month, Spartan Race, an international obstacle race, also brings thousands of athletes between Arena 58, beach, Parco del Conca and circuit, with over 6,000 participants on 19 and 20 September 2026. The 2027 edition, marking ten years of the race in Misano, is set for 18 and 19 September.
Guided circuit visits are described in the Misano Circuit Tour listing; the events in Misano page gathers announced event dates.
