Events in Rimini

In Rimini, events return at the same times each year: Paganello on the beach at Easter, Rimini Marathon in April, Notte Rosa in June, Cartoon Club in July, Sagra Musicale Malatestiana from late August to December and Capodanno più lungo del mondo between Christmas and early January. The beach hosts sport and festivals, central squares host concerts and markets, and neighbourhoods hold celebrations linked to their own history.

Carnival, bonfires and spring sport

ColorCoriandolo brings Carnival to life in the historic centre with shows and family events. On the eve of San Giuseppe, Fogheraccia also brings the bonfire tradition to the harbour area.

Paganello, the international beach frisbee tournament, has been played at Easter on Marina Centro beach for 35 years. Rimini Marathon takes place in April, as in 2024 and 2026, when it ran from 17 to 19 April, with starts and routes around the city. Other Easter events are covered on the Easter in Rimini page.

Festivals of books, comics and performances

Mare di Libri is devoted to teenage readers and takes place in June in the historic centre. Cartoon Club brings animation, comics and games to Rimini in July, with RiminiComix at Parco Fellini: in 2026, its 42nd edition ran from 12 to 19 July.

Notte Rosa has taken place in June since 2025, involving the seafront and centre: from 19 to 21 June 2026, it brought a music festival to Piazzale Fellini and fireworks over the sea. In summer, Piazzale Kennedy hosts DJ sets and concerts on the Belvedere.

The Arena Francesca da Rimini programmes, beside Castel Sismondo, add music and theatre to summer evenings. The entertainment in Rimini guide helps with choosing between cinema, performances and other activities.

Music and neighbourhood celebrations

Sagra Musicale Malatestiana spans late summer and autumn, with concerts at different venues. Teatro Galli is one of the city's musical landmarks; other programmes involve Teatro degli Atti and churches.

Festa de Borg brings performances, food and events to Borgo San Giuliano. Established in 1979, it returned in 2024 after a six-year break, from 6 to 8 September, and has since been held in even-numbered years on the first weekend of September: the latest edition was in 2026.

Borgo Sant'Andrea has a separate celebration linked to patron saint San Gaudenzo, whose feast day is 14 October. The celebration takes place around that date, with music, street performances and markets: documented editions ran on 11-14 October 2025 and 9-11 October 2026.

Markets, Christmas and New Year

The historic centre's market fairs, covering antiques and crafts, occupy Piazza Tre Martiri, Corso d'Augusto and other streets; the calendar is on the shopping in Rimini page.

Capodanno più lungo del mondo is the programme gathering Rimini's Christmas and year-end events. The 2024-25 and 2025-26 editions brought open-air concerts between 29 and 31 December, celebrations in several central squares and by the sea on New Year's Eve, and a light and fireworks show over Castel Sismondo. Each year, the Comune issues ordinances on glass and music for 31 December and strengthens transport: in 2025-26, this also included free tourist trains between seafront and centre.

For events for younger children, Rimini with children offers a starting point. The evenings in Rimini and Riviera events pages complete the choice between local activities and events in neighbouring towns.
