Nightclubs and nightlife in Cesenatico
Nightlife in Cesenatico gathers near the sea in two areas a few minutes' walk apart: Piazza Andrea Costa with Viale Carducci, and the canal harbour with the historic centre's streets. These are the same places the Comune protects on summer evenings with a glass ban: Piazza Costa, Giardini al Mare, Piazza Ciceruacchio, Corso Garibaldi, Via Moretti and Piazza delle Conserve. A mayoral ordinance sets music hours each season: in 2025, outdoor music at venues stopped at midnight, at 1am on one evening a week, and at 3am for Notte Rosa, Ferragosto and 31 December.
Where bars and nightlife are concentrated
Piazza Andrea Costa, below the skyscraper, is the square for open-air concerts, Notte Rosa and seaside shows. Viale Carducci starts here, a seafront of bars, hotels and beach access points; in summer, the stretch as far as Via Piave becomes pedestrian-only from 8pm to midnight: from 1 July to 31 August in 2025, and from 30 June to 1 September in 2026. On Tuesday evenings in 2026, the Comune's “L'isola si anima” series brought free music and shows to the pedestrian area; on Thursdays, it moved to Valverde, at seaside Piazzale Michelangelo. In Villamarina, Viale delle Nazioni is the evening landmark.
In the Levante area between Via Ferrara, Via Pasubio and part of Via dei Mille, the Comune recorded numerous night-time interventions by Polizia Locale and other law enforcement agencies over disturbances: on 7 August 2026, the mayor ordered food shops and workshops there to close from midnight to 6am, including for takeaway sales.
The harbour after dinner
The historic centre around the canal harbour is pedestrian-only all year, with electronic entry checkpoints active day and night. Piazza Ciceruacchio opens onto the stretch of harbour near the sea and hosts the New Year's Eve concert, on 31 December 2024 as on 31 December 2025. Upstream along the canal, Corso Garibaldi and Via Marino Moretti follow the two banks to the Museo della Marineria boats. Piazza delle Conserve leads instead to the centre's inner streets.
Here an evening combines dinner and a walk on a route different from the seafront.
Music finishing times
The 2025 season's noise ordinance allowed bars and restaurants to play music indoors and outdoors until midnight from May to October, and until 1am one evening a week, on Friday or Saturday. After midnight, music could continue only inside venues complying with national noise limits. For Notte Rosa evenings, 14 and 15 August and 31 December, the limit extended to 3am. From November to April, only national limits apply.
On the beach, the 2026 municipal bathing ordinance allowed beach establishments one party a week until 1am, or two from 25 July to 23 August. The same ordinance prohibits beach access from 1am to 5am and opens Cesenatico's free beaches from 7.30am to midnight.
Evening rules
On summer weekends, the Comune bans glass: in 2026, from 12 June to 6 September, takeaway sales in glass were prohibited between Viale Zara and Via Cavour on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 6pm to 7am, and carrying glass was also forbidden in nightlife areas. Fines ranged from €25 to €500.
National rules also apply all year: venues stop serving alcohol at 3am until 6am, except on New Year's Eve and the night between 15 and 16 August. The drink-driving limit is 0.5 grams per litre, or zero for under-21s and during the first three years of holding a category B licence.
Nightclubs, music and festivals
Notte Rosa has taken place in June since 2025: that year it brought a DJ set, a concert and fireworks over the sea to Piazza Costa, then moved to Piazza Michelangelo in Valverde on Sunday. Festa di Garibaldi combines the harbour, maritime tradition and entertainment, while dawn concerts take place on the beach outside usual evening hours.
Markets add other reasons to go out: Viale Carducci, Ponente and the southern districts have separate programmes, summarised on the shopping in Cesenatico page. Theatre, cinema and out-of-season evenings in the squares are covered in entertainment in Cesenatico, and programme dates and venues in town events.
Getting home
Cesenatico station is on the Rimini-Ravenna line: towards Ravenna, the next stop is Cervia-Milano Marittima, for evenings among Milano Marittima's bars. Train times for the chosen date are in Trenitalia's journey search.
By bus, Start Romagna route 94 links Cesenatico Porto Canale and Cesena. In the winter 2026-27 timetable, the last weekday service towards Cesena leaves at 8.06pm, and the last Sunday and public holiday service at 7.05pm. In summer, route 94A adds evening services: in 2026, from 19 June to 30 August, the last departure from Cesenatico towards Cesena was at 1am daily. All routes are in the Start Romagna timetables.
