Cesenatico

Shopping in Cesenatico

The main Cesenatico market takes place on Friday mornings near the stadium. In the historic centre, farmers sell their produce between Piazza delle Conserve and Piazza del Monte; the Pescheria comunale is a short walk away in Piazza Fiorentini.

Fridays near the stadium

Stalls occupy Via Sozzi, Via Milano, Via della Libertà, Via Ricci, Via Travisani and Via della Repubblica. From May to September, the market extends towards Via Venezia and a further stretch of Via Sozzi.

Stalls trade from 7am to 1.30pm. Traffic and parking are prohibited on the market streets from 5am to 3pm.

The market takes place every Friday throughout the year; the Comune announces any changes when a Friday falls on a public holiday.

Farmers and the Pescheria comunale

Piazza delle Conserve and Piazza del Monte host the farmers' market, selling fruit, vegetables and farm produce. The municipal calendar lists every morning from April to September; from October to March, public holidays are excluded.

The Pescheria comunale in Piazza Fiorentini is a building dating from 1911 used for selling fish. The fish market in Via Matteucci, by contrast, operates wholesale, with an auction room reserved for trade professionals.

Traditional preserved foods include saraghina, a small oily fish cured in salt. Other seafood preparations are described in the guide to where to eat in Cesenatico.

Summer markets

From May to September, each evening has its own small market, from the historic centre to Valverde, Villamarina, Ponente and Zadina. These were the main locations in summer 2026.

The tourism programme for the markets lists periods and other events. In summer, the year-round Friday market remains near the stadium.

Fairs, Christmas and walks

Il Pesce fa Festa closes the season around All Saints' Day, between late October and early November: food stalls in the historic centre and fish-market area, with a craft and local-produce market in the central streets. The 2026 dates are 29 October to 2 November.

At Christmas, traditional markets occupy Viale Anita Garibaldi and Mercatino dei Creativi returns between Via Baldini and Via Quadrelli, mainly on weekends and holidays until Epiphany. The 2026-27 edition runs from 29 November to 6 January; opening days for both markets appear in the Christmas markets calendar.

The canal harbour, Piazza Ciceruacchio and Piazza delle Conserve form a walking route through the historic centre. Viale Carducci and, in Villamarina, Viale delle Nazioni are other shopping areas closer to the coastal neighbourhoods. Markets in nearby resorts are covered in the guide to shopping on the Riviera.
