Milano Marittima
Shopping in Milano Marittima
In Milano Marittima, shops spread along avenues around Rotonda Primo Maggio. The 1ª Traversa market is the Monday evening market, May to September, with stalls opening at 3.30pm. For a weekly year-round market, the nearest is in Cervia, on Thursday mornings.
From Rotonda Primo Maggio to the avenues
Viale Gramsci, Viale Due Giugno and Viale Matteotti are the main streets for strolling past shop windows. Rotonda Primo Maggio helps with orientation in the centre: avenues radiate from its circular garden towards the coast and other districts.
Viale Gramsci includes the most central pedestrian area. Car access follows municipal ZTL rules, with extra evening restrictions in summer.
The 1ª Traversa market
The evening market brings around forty clothing, household item and sweet stalls to 1ª Traversa. It takes place every Monday from May to September, opening at 3.30pm; in 2026, the municipal calendar ran from 15 May to 21 September, with three additional all-day spring dates (6 April, 26 April and 3 May).
During the rest of the year, Cervia market takes place on Thursday mornings in Piazza Andrea Costa. Pinarella has its Tuesday market on Piazzale Premi Nobel and Via Quasimodo. Municipal locations and other events are described in shopping in Cervia.
Crafts along the Canalino
Vialetto degli Artisti occupies the Canalino bank at 1ª Traversa, between access points from Viale Matteotti and Viale Due Giugno. Displays include ceramics, illustrations, jewellery and works by artists and designers.
The calendar follows summer, from 8pm to midnight: in 2026, it included the final two June weekends, Fridays to Mondays in July and every evening from 31 July to 31 August.
Giardino dei Semplici instead brings medicinal plants, herbal products, natural products and crafts to Viale Bologna on summer Tuesday evenings; in 2026, from 9 June to 8 September. That season, MiMa Vintage Market had two events, in July and between July and August, between 1ª Traversa and the centre.
Markets and products in other seasons
At Christmas, Rotonda Primo Maggio and central streets host performances, installations and a small market in wooden huts; in the 2025-26 edition, the programme ran from 30 November to 6 January. Each season's dates are gathered in events in Milano Marittima.
Sweet salt links Milano Marittima to the Cervia area and its salt pans. Other coastal markets and shopping streets can be compared in the shopping on the Riviera guide.
