Milano Marittima
Milano Marittima with children
In Milano Marittima, the pinewood offers different children's activities: walks, play in public parks, animal watching and suspended courses. Parco Naturale, with its farm, and Casa delle Farfalle, with its tropical greenhouse, are the two main destinations. On the coast, the seafront without motor traffic links beach access points; for museums and the library, the place to go is central Cervia.
Parco Naturale and the animal area
Parco Naturale di Cervia is on Viale Carlo Forlanini, in the Milano Marittima Terme area. The green area has free access, with a botanical route and picnic spaces; the “Nella vecchia fattoria” animal area instead charges admission.
The animal enclosure includes deer, fallow deer, peacocks and pheasants; at the farm, children can approach domestic animals.
Parco Naturale opens from late March to early November, with a reduced autumn calendar. In 2026, the park bar remained closed: a long picnic-area stop requires water and a packed lunch.
CerviAvventura among the trees
CerviAvventura occupies part of Parco Naturale with suspended courses tackled with a harness from age 4; courses are chosen by age and height.
Younger children also have Casette Sospese, a treetop play space different from the adventure courses. CerviAvventura opens in spring and summer: from 4 April to 27 September in 2026. The attraction listing gathers practical visiting information.
The surrounding pinewood offers a ground-level alternative. Trails described in excursions from Milano Marittima allow a short route to be chosen.
Casa delle Farfalle on Via Jelenia Gora
Casa delle Farfalle is at 6/d Via Jelenia Gora. The centre includes a tropical greenhouse with free-flying butterflies and a pavilion devoted to insects. Visits can begin with observing colours and shapes or children's interest in insect life cycles.
The greenhouse recreates warm, humid conditions, different from the pinewood outside; the facility also has a garden and outdoor botanical route.
Casa delle Farfalle opens from late March to early October: from 28 March to 4 October in 2026. In winter, MUSA and the Cervia library offer an indoor day.
Public parks near the pinewood
Via Jelenia Gora also has Parco Gino Pilandri. The municipal play parks list describes play and picnic areas, a small library made from tree trunks and a wooden marble track; in 2026, after the tornado, the Comune replanted around twenty pines here.
Other options are Parco ex Mantovana on Viale Forlì and the play area opposite the Terme on Via Forlanini. For a family, staying in one area rather than another changes which park is a short walk away.
Parco Fondatori, also known as Anello del Pino, occupies over 20,000 square metres of pinewood near the seafront and preserves the monument to Milano Marittima's origins. After tornado damage on 24 August 2025, the Comune began restoring the park in 2026: new trees, draining paths, new play equipment and robinia wood furnishings on impact-absorbing surfacing.
Beach and car-free seafront
The numbered side streets from Viale Matteotti lead towards the beach. On the seafront, walking and cycling routes allow travel without motor traffic.
Play, entertainment and sand workshops depend on individual beach establishments' activities. The Milano Marittima beach page explores coast and services; the free beaches page identifies access points without compulsory hire. In the water, flags and lifeguard instructions apply.
Museums in Cervia and a day in Savio
MUSA, Museo del Sale, and the children's section of Biblioteca Maria Goia are in central Cervia and remain open in winter too. The Cervia with children page describes these places, workshops and salt pan visits.
For a day at a large amusement park, Mirabilandia is in Savio within Comune di Ravenna: a day outing outside Milano Marittima, with season and transport given in the listing.
The Milano Marittima guide gathers other resort activities; a comparison of destinations and parks is on the Riviera with children page.
