Piazzale Roma is where the Viale Ceccarini walking route meets the sea. From here in Riccione, an evening can continue along the harbour, in front of a stage or at the theatre. For a day with children, parks, minigolf and activities involving marine animals come into play.
Between Piazzale Roma and the harbour
The Bosco della Pioggia fountain marks Piazzale Roma, which hosts concerts and shows during festivals. Lungomare della Libertà leads towards the canal harbour: a walk close to the centre, with the beach on one side and access to the avenues on the other.
Piazzale Ceccarini, in front of Palazzo del Turismo, is the centre's second outdoor stage.
In summer, music moves out of the halls. Albe in controluce brings free dawn concerts to the free beaches at Marano and San Martino, from late June to mid-August: from 21 June to 16 August in 2026. Riccione Summer Jazz brings jazz to squares and parks; the Riccione events calendar covers the different venues.
Theatre, cinema and exhibitions
Spazio Tondelli is the main theatre venue, in the area between Viale Ceccarini and Viale Don Minzoni. Riccione Teatro's 2026-2027 season runs from 3 November 2026 to 24 May 2027, with plays and other forms of performance. Riccione TTV Festival, a biennial event for experimental theatre, dance and video, takes place in November: its 28th edition, from 12 to 15 November 2026, is based at Spazio Tondelli.
At Villa Franceschi, on Viale Gorizia, free-entry exhibitions offer an alternative to a seafront walk. In summer, the Parco degli Olivetani amphitheatre hosts Cinema nel parco, the open-air film series promoted by the Comune: in 2026, it offered forty-six screenings over almost two months.
Shows and screenings are collected in the town tourism calendar, where each event specifies its venue and admission arrangements.
A day at the parks
Aquafan, open only in summer, is devoted to slides and water attractions. Oltremare takes a different approach, with dolphins, birds of prey and trails exploring the animal world, and also opens on some days in autumn and over the end-of-year holidays.
Near the coast, Beach Village offers pools and slides; Indiana Golf adds a round of minigolf. Fondazione Cetacea provides opportunities to learn about turtle rescue work at events open to the public. The Riccione with children guide distinguishes the options and useful information for a visit.
Rides, sport and evenings
In winter, Piazzale Roma hosts the 55-metre-tall seaside observation wheel: the Comune granted its site for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 end-of-year festivities, with the option to remain until 30 March. In summer, Viale Vespucci in the Abissinia district hosts the town funfair, with rides mainly for families and children.
Playhall on Viale Carpi hosts competitions and events, some open to spectators. Facilities and routes for taking part in activities are described on the sport in Riccione page. For music and bars, areas and transport links are covered in the evening and nightlife guide; comparison with other resorts is in entertainment on the Riviera.
