On Saturday mornings, the Cattolica market occupies Piazza Antonio De Curtis and Via Petrarca. Mercato Coperto, meanwhile, is in the centre on Piazza Mercato. The shopping walk follows Via Bovio, Via Matteotti and the streets leading towards Piazza Primo Maggio and the sea.
The Saturday market
The weekly market runs year-round, with summer and winter layouts. Its location includes Piazza De Curtis and Via Petrarca; the winter configuration also uses Via Viole.
The summer layout runs from May to September, the winter one from October to April. Sales hours are not uniform for every stall; municipal notices apply on public holiday Saturdays.
Mercato Coperto
Mercato Coperto on Piazza Mercato is a 1920s building with Art Nouveau elements. Its indoor businesses are the centre's food shopping reference, distinct from the weekly Piazza De Curtis stalls.
The harbour fish market is a different facility, linked to wholesale fish sales. For a harbour-area visit, quays and fishing basin offer a walking route near the Gabicce Mare boundary.
Antiques and evening markets
AntìCatt, Cattolica's antiques, modern collectibles and vintage market fair, takes place on the second Sunday of the month, from 7.30am to 6pm. In 2026, its third edition, the calendar ran from January to November, with stalls on Via Bovio and Piazza Nettuno.
Evening markets belong to the summer season. In 2026, locations included Via Gran Bretagna on Mondays, Via Matteotti on Wednesdays and the fishing basin on Sundays; other stalls were on Lungomare Rasi Spinelli and near the Ventena.
Products and fairs
Cattolica in Fiore brings plants, flowers and garden items to the centre between late April and early May. Other events devote squares to chocolate, crafts and food products, with calendars for individual editions.
Products linked to local tradition include bizulà, fishermen's ring-shaped bread, and miacetto, a Christmas cake symbolic of the town. Piadina, fresh pasta sheets and other Romagna products complete the food shopping options; the where to eat in Cattolica page describes their use in cooking.
Shopping streets
Via Bovio and Via Matteotti cross the central shopping area; Via Mancini, Via Curiel and Viale Dante add other stretches towards the sea. Via Cattaneo and the Bastioni area lead back towards the town's historic core.
From the harbour, the walk can continue across the Tavollo, where the Thursday market and central streets are described in shopping in Gabicce Mare. Market days in the two resorts and other coastal towns are compared on the shopping on the Riviera page.
