Rimini offers an evening at the theatre, a film or a walk between squares and sea. The historic centre concentrates cultural venues; Marina Centro hosts some summer performances and seasonal attractions. From late October to April, the Teatro Galli season is the focus, while in summer cinema moves outdoors and squares host concerts and festivals.
Teatro Galli, Teatro degli Atti and cinema
Teatro Galli overlooks Piazza Cavour. The 2026-2027 drama and dance season runs from 30 October 2026 to 2 April 2027; some performances take place at Teatro degli Atti on Via Cairoli, where Sciroppo di Teatro also returns on Sundays between February and April 2027 for children aged 4 and over.
Cinema Fulgor, on Corso d'Augusto, is linked to the Fellini Museum complex. Cineteca comunale screens first releases in the ground-floor room of Palazzo Gambalunga, at 27 Via Gambalunga, and organises summer open-air cinema at Corte degli Agostiniani, 42 Via Cairoli. The programme has returned for years: in 2026, it ran from 13 June to 26 August, with screenings at 9.30pm.
Summer arenas and squares
Arena Francesca da Rimini, in the shadow of Castel Sismondo, is the historic centre's open-air stage: from 30 July to 1 August 2026, it hosted three evenings of music with free entry.
Piazzale Fellini and Piazzale Kennedy are the stages for seaside events. On Wednesday evenings in summer 2026, the historic centre stayed open late with shops and markets, and municipal museums extended opening until 11pm.
Major events follow a recurring order. June brings Mare di Libri, the festival for young readers, to Piazza Cavour, and Notte Rosa, held on the solstice weekend since 2025. In July, Cartoon Club and RiminiComix bring animation and comics between the historic centre and Piazzale Fellini (42nd edition in 2026). In September of even-numbered years, Borgo San Giuliano hosts Festa de Borg; in October, Festa del Borgo Sant'Andrea precedes patron saint San Gaudenzo's feast on 14 October.
Each edition's dates and venues are in events in Rimini; nightlife is covered in the evenings in Rimini section.
The harbour and attractions
The observation wheel is the city's most recognisable travelling fairground attraction: it returns every summer to Piazzale Boscovich at the harbour. Nearby, minigolf operates in the warmer season.
For a longer outing, Italia in Miniatura and Fiabilandia are the two theme parks within Rimini. Choices by age and season are in the Rimini with children guide.
Sport to watch
In early September, Festival della cultura sportiva brings talks and activities to Piazzale Kennedy and other city venues: its fifth edition ran from 3 to 6 September 2026. Competitions, facilities and event periods are on the sport in Rimini page.
Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini, meanwhile, takes place at the Misano Adriatico circuit: the entertainment in Misano guide describes that resort.
The historic centre in autumn and winter
Theatre, cinema, exhibitions and central markets allow visits even after beach performances end. At Museo della Città, the exhibition “Il codice della Passione. Bellini e Mantegna allo specchio”, opened on 18 July 2026, remains on view until 10 January 2027. Christmas and New Year have their own programmes, published annually.
The excursions from Rimini widen the choice beyond the centre; entertainment on the Riviera compares options along the coast.
