In Rimini, children's activities spread between the seafront and a city with public parks, library and museums. The two theme parks are at opposite ends of the city: Italia in Miniatura in Viserba to the north and Fiabilandia in Rivazzurra to the south. The coast is around fifteen kilometres long, from Torre Pedrera to Miramare, so planning a day means choosing an area and a few nearby stops.
Playing near the beach
Parco del Mare follows the coast with pedestrian routes, cycle paths, greenery and play spaces. In Marina Centro, on the first stretch of southern seafront, Foresta del Mare is an inclusive play area. Parco Fellini hosts “Tutti a bordo”, another space designed for shared play among children with different abilities.
These spaces allow families to alternate sand and walking. The refurbished seafront changes between districts, however, and stops are chosen starting from the accommodation area.
Play areas, entertainment, workshops and sports activities vary between establishments, with their own age limits and rules. For swimming, flags and lifeguard instructions apply.
The Rimini beach page explores the coast. Rimini free beaches also describes Spiaggia Libera Tutti, near Piazzale Boscovich, with services for people with disabilities and their families.
Parks between historic centre and districts
Parco XXV Aprile, also called Parco Marecchia, is accessible from Ponte di Tiberio. A large green space along the river's former course, it combines a play stop with a walk around San Giuliano. The excursions in Rimini page explores routes beyond central stops.
Between Arco di Augusto and the sea, Parco Cervi and Parco Renzi form another green axis. Inland, Parco Fabbri and Parco Giovanni Paolo II, known as Parco della Cava, add spaces for play and walking. La Cava extends around an artificial lake formed in an old clay quarry and frequented by geese and ducks; it has a play area with tables and gazebos and a fitness trail of around two kilometres.
In Viserba, Parco don Tonino Bello reopened in May 2026 after refurbishment. A large whale is the inclusive play area's recognisable feature; the park also has a cycle and pedestrian loop and sports courts. It is the most convenient stop for stays north of the harbour.
Other useful spaces for stays outside Marina Centro are Parco Briolini in San Giuliano Mare and Parco Pertini in Marebello.
Italia in Miniatura and Fiabilandia
Italia in Miniatura is in Viserba. Scale replicas of Italian and European monuments make buildings and cities recognisable, while attractions add other activities to the walk among miniatures.
Fiabilandia is instead in Rivazzurra, southern Rimini. The park extends around a lake, with fantasy settings and attractions for children and families; water areas are added in summer.
Both also open outside summer, in autumn and at Christmas, with fewer attractions operating: Fiabilandia's water areas remain closed, while Italia in Miniatura's winter offer includes fewer activities. The two park listings show the opening calendar.
Library and museums for an indoor day
Biblioteca dei ragazzi Gambalunga, at 27 Via Gambalunga, serves children and teenagers up to fourteen. It has open-shelf spaces and a room for younger children. It is a historic centre stop for reading together; readings and meetings have their own calendar.
Museo della Città and Domus del Chirurgo instead offer an introduction to Roman Rimini. The Domus, on Piazza Ferrari, preserves house remains beneath a glass cover; the museum gathers finds and evidence of city history. For a visit with children, choosing a theme beforehand, such as the Roman house or mosaics, and limiting the route to it can help. The Rimini guide locates museums, monuments and squares in the historic centre.
A stop with younger children
Centro per le Famiglie is at 1 Piazzetta dei Servi. Its spaces include Punto Pappa & Pannolino for feeding and changing children, Giardino dei Folletti and a library. Giardino dei Folletti welcomes children aged zero to three accompanied by an adult. Access is free during the Centro's opening hours and requires a free membership card. Centro workshops require an adult's presence and are divided by age group.
Events and hinterland outings
Mare di Libri, the festival devoted to reading for children and teenagers, brings meetings and presentations to the historic centre in mid-June: its 19th edition ran from 12 to 14 June 2026. In July, Cartoon Club, an animation and comics festival, fills the centre, Castel Sismondo and Parco Fellini with screenings, exhibitions and workshops; its 42nd edition ran from 12 to 19 July 2026. Puppet shows, performances in the squares and library events add options for different ages, gathered in events in Rimini.
Outside the city, Parco tematico dell'aviazione is in the Sant'Aquilina area along the San Marino road. Skypark is further away, in Perticara, in the Comune di Novafeltria: a hinterland day outing.
The Riviera with children page compares parks and activities in other coastal resorts.
